About the event
Ride with Natalee is sponsored by Harley-Davidson of Fargo. We have joined forced with many local motorcycle clubs such as Women in the Wind, Christian Motorcycle Association, HOGS Fargo Chapter and Haley's Milk Run.
In August of 2019 we decided to invite as many motorcycles as possible to ride with our daughter, Natalee. Who was at that time 5 year old. After her rape in 2018 she suffered from PTSD and parks were a big trigger for her. Her favorite things in life were classic cars, motorocycles and unicorns. Harley-Davidson of Fargo heard what we were trying to do and asked if they coujld join us. We planned the ride in one month! On the day of the ride our family was blown away by the support shown by the motorcycle community. 211 motorcycles, a dozen classic cars and a little over 300 people came to ride with Natalee.
The goal was to stop at a few parks and replace a terrible memory with an AMAZING one! Not only did we succeed in this but we raised a little over $7,000 for the Red River Children's Advocacy Center.
Our goal this year is 300 motorcycles and to raise $10,000 for the Advocacy Center. The RRCAC is near and dear to us. They provide a safe area for forensic interviews for child victims. Not only does the child feel comfortable and safe but they also have trained interviewers who make the entire experience feel just like an every day event. They invite each agency to the center so that the child is only interviewed once. They have medical staff in the same building so there isn't any travel needed for the already distraught families. They don't leave families to fend for themselves after the interview is complete either .They offer mental health services for each victim that comes to their center. It is all at no cost to the families and the staff is willing to work around busy schedules. They show the victim what it is to not just survive but to thrive. They helped our family and I am forever grateful to them.
